Congratulations if you have decided to get married. Everyone who lives in the parish of St Alban the Martyr is entitled to be married in the church.
In the past the number of places where people could marry was limited but recently the laws have been relaxed. Nowadays you can marry in a particular church if;
- One of you is baptised or prepared for Confirmation in the church
- One of you has lived in the parish for six months or more
- One of you has regularly attended public worship at any time in the church for six months or more
- One of your parents has lived in the parish for six months or more in your lifetime
- One of your parents has regularly attended worship in the church for six months or more in your lifetime
- Your parents or grandparents were married in the church
You can see if you live in the parish by checking on the Church Near You website
